|
- The admissions to undergraduate
(UG) and postgraduate (PG) courses
at the UICT are made on merit alone,
which is decided on the basis of class
and marks secured by the candidates
at the qualifying examinations. Canvassing of any sort will be a disqualification.
- No age limit is prescribed for admission to the UICT.
- The candidate should ask for the correct admission form required for admission to the particular specific course, viz. B.Chem.Eng./B.Tech., M.Chem.Eng., M.Pharm.Sc., M.Tech., M.E. (Plastic Eng.), Ph.D. (Technology), M.Sc. (By research) and Ph.D. (Science). The form has a tear-off receipt attached at the bottom end. For each course of M.Tech./M.Chem. Engg., a separate application form has to be submitted. The receipt should be filled in by the candidate and signed by the concerned clerk accepting it. This receipt should be preserved for future correspondence.
- All the relevant columns in the application form must be completed in legible hand or be typewritten.
- Admissions to B. Chem. Engg. and
B. Tech. courses are of different types
as given below at a) to e).
a)AIEEE 2008 score (30% of total
sanctioned intake). Admission by
and at the UICT.
b)MHT-CET 2008 score (70% of total
sanctioned intake). Admission by
and at the COEP.
c)Economically Weaker Section
(EWS) from State of Maharashtra
(maximum 10% seats of MHT-CET
quota and within the sanctioned
intake, based on MHT-CET score).
Admission by and at the COEP.
d)In lieu of AICTE Tuition Fee Waiver
at c) above, equal number of seats
with higher fees (maximum of 10%)
are available, based on MHT-CET
score. Admission by and at the
COEP.
e)15% seats are available over and
above the total sanctioned intake
with break up as 10% for Foreign
Nationals/Foreign Students/
Persons of Indian Origin and 5% for
Children of Indian workers in the
Gulf countries. Admission by and
at the COEP.
- All seats for B. Pharm. will be filled
up by CAP of DTE.
- For PG courses, the candidates
additionally need to clear qualifying
tests such as GATE/NET/SET/JRF,
etc., as applicable, as well as the
UICT entrance tests. On the basis of
all these scores, a separate merit list
is prepared for each course. All the post graduate courses at the
UICT are FULL TIME courses.
- The GATE score should be written in the application form by candidates seeking admission to M.Chem.Eng./M.Tech./M.Pharm.Sc./M.E. (Plastics). There are 64 UGC fellowships for open and 14 fellowships for SC/ST candidates. Holding of the valid GATE score does not entitle an applicant for admission.
- The decision of the Director, UICT
shall be final in the case of any
dispute about admission.
- The UICT does not enter into correspondence with any candidate for obtaining copies of mark-sheet etc. in connection with his/her admission and forms of application which are received incomplete. However, in the case of a candidate whose result of the final qualifying examination is not declared before the last date notified for receipt of applications, he/she must communicate the result of the examination, when declared, by telegram and send by Registered Post a certified copy of the mark sheet, giving full details of the marks secured by him/her at the qualifying examination subject-wise total marks and the class obtained by him/her at the examination. The application form bears a number which must be stated in the correspondence. The decision of the Director is final.
- A candidate who fails to accept the offer of admission made by the UICT to any of the courses forfeits his/her claim for admission in that year. Acceptance of the offer means payment of the prescribed fees and deposit by the specified date.
Also, If a candidate leaves the course after taking admission, he/she should hand over the Identity Card to the office without fail. Every year a new identity card must be obtained on payment of necessary fees. A latest photo be affixed on it.
- Commencement of New Session for the academic year 2008-2009 will be on 1st July 2008.
